2017 Reading Challenges

[Note: For a more comprehensive list of 2017 reading challenges, just click on the Challenges tab above.]

📚📚📚📚📚

Still thinking about reading challenges for the coming new year. I'm posting this mainly as a way to keep track of the new challenges that interest me, so it's by no means a comprehensive list of ALL the challenges out there. Basically, I look for challenges that are not terribly restrictive and allow for different levels of involvement (so, no set number of books per week or month). Also (with one or two exceptions), I'm not really attracted to the long-list challenges with a lot of different categories or subjects ("Read a book that was published on a Thursday" "Read a book that has lamb chops on the cover" "Read a book recommended by your cousin Reg" etc.)

Anyway, these are just some I'm thinking might be fun. I've mentioned a few of them before. They're in (roughly) alphabetical order, and I'll probably be adding to the list as the month goes on.

In general, the links are to the announcement/sign-up pages. I will NOT be signing up for ALL of these. Well, probably not.

    1. Hi, Kimberly! Actually, I've only signed up for ONE so far. These are just the ones that look intriguing to me. I'm really trying to limit myself to only a few next year.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun with your reading challenges.

  3. I've not signed up for anything yet, either. Mind, I'm starting my second year of the Classics Club challenge, and I'll be spearheading my own "Discovery of Asia" theme, reading 2 books per month on Asian history or culture. I think that's more than enough for one plate!

    1. Definitely enough! But it sounds really intriguing.

    2. I know practically nothing of Indian and Chinese history prior to the 19th century, so I am hoping to correct that! It won't all be history, though.

  4. Wow, that's a long list! I don't really do challenges lately...although this year, I did one called Read the Books You Buy (similar to Mt. TBR, which I've done).

I've also done Cruisin' with the Cozies...and that was fun.

    Enjoy!

    1. Yes, a really LONG list! And the awful thing is that it's probably going to get longer. But I'm promising myself that I'll only sign up for a FEW next year. I really need something like the Read the Books You Buy challenge -- my TBR list is definitely getting out of hand.

Thanks for the visit, and happy reading!

Welcome and thanks for leaving me a comment. I love to hear from visitors.

Also, please note that while I appreciate the thought, I don't play the blog awards game. I think you all deserve awards! But you might think about becoming a follower of my blog -- that would really be the best award.
