Monday Reading Update

It's been a while since I posted a reading update - over a month, I think.  During that time, I've read a few more books, but haven't posted any reviews.  Still working on that; one of my resolutions for the new year is to do a better job of reviewing the books I read.  Hmmmm.  I think that was one of my resolutions for THIS year.  Oh, well - here's my list of books finished:
  1. Invisible Cities, by Italo Calvino
  2. Double Indemnity, by James M. Cain
  3. Evil Under the Sun, by Agatha Christie
  4. The 13 Clocks, by James Thurber

I've also done wrap-ups for a few of this year's reading challenges:

I'm trying to do a little better job of controlling myself when it comes to signing up for challenges in 2014.  That's six so far, and that might be all I can handle.

    Congrats on completing those challenges. I didn't sign up for any in 2013 due to my woeful inability to finish any. That's my plan for 2014 too. Come check out my Monday Report if you get a chance. Happy reading and happy holidays!

    Ha ha, then I won't suggest you sign up for the challenge I'm hosting, Around the World in 12 Books, though it sounds like it'd be your kind of challenge. ;)

    I made the point of not making any resolutions for this year, because I knew there was no point.

    I loved Double Indemnity, how did you find it?

    I like the look of some of those challenges, congrats on your finishes. I should sign up for the Historical Reading challenge in '14, as much of that as I've been reading lately. Reading Scotland sounds good too.

    So far, I haven't signed up for any reading challenges. I went nuts last year, and even though I finished all but one, it felt too much like I was just reading for the challenges. I think I might sign up for a Mt. TBR Challenge, as I always need to read more from my stacks. Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week!

    I am not signing up for any challenges this year. I am trying to get some of the books on my ever growing TBR pile read next year.

    Since December 16th was (I think the day Jane Austen was born in 1775) I thought this week I would read "Mr. Darcy's Diary" by Amanda Grange. It sounds like a fun cozy read for the cold week being predicted this week here in Iowa. I can curl up in a blanket and read away......
