Anyway, here's an update of how things stand:
- Last two weeks -
Finished reading Cards on the Table, by Agatha Christie (link is to my review).
Finished reading The House Next Door, by Anne Rivers Siddons (hope to get a review up later today or tomorrow).
Also read Animal Farm, by George Orwell. Not much to say about that one. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I enjoyed 1984. Still, it's one of those books everyone should read.
Posted a few more reviews:
The Egypt Game, by Zilpha Keatley Snyder
All Is Forgotten, Nothing Is Lost, by Lan Samantha Chang
The Spider Bites, by Medora Sale - This week -
I''m still reading The Dark Half by Stephen King, and Juliet by Anne Fortier. Also started a book I picked up last time I visited the library: Book of Shadows by Alexandra Sokoloff. Really shouldn't have done that, but so far it's too good to put aside. - In the wings -
Still have several ARCs to get to and many, many reviews to catch up on; but now that I've made a bit of a start I'm hoping I can keep up the good work.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. If you want to let the world know what books you're going to be reading this week, head on over to her blog and leave your link. It's also a great way to discover new books and new blogs.
Hello Joy, just found your blog via the Monday meme.
ReplyDeleteI used to research my family history too and I know how much time that can cost - and how addictive it is!
But you're back to reading now, which is also good fun. Happy reading this week! Do visit my blog if you like.
Book of Shadow got my interest. Glad you are enjoying it. I will have to check it out. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to join in on a read a long for 1984. I have never read it.
ReplyDeleteHave a super week Joy :)
Didn't realize that Siddons wrote horror too. Enjoy your books.
ReplyDeleteI've had that happen, too, where my Monday post would be a carbon copy of last week's :D
ReplyDeleteI remember reading Animal Farm in high school & not liking it too much. It could be the age gap between now & then. I might try 1984 since it's a classic & all.
Here's my Monday meme. Cheers!
Interesting list of books. Thanks for the recommendation on Agatha Christie's Cards On The Table...I'm adding it to my TBR list. I'm currently reading an interesting book called "Rain Dance" by Joy DeKok. It's a Christin fiction book about two women who become friends in the most unlikely of circumstances. One is dealing with infertility and the other abortion. I can't seem to put it down.
ReplyDeleteBook of shadows sounds like a good read!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your week...
Hope you enjoy your week -- Book of Shadows is on my list as well! Here's my Mailbox: Coffee and a Book Chick -- Mailbox Monday...
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I still have Juliet on my TBR list...probably won't get to it for a good while (there's an enormous amount of books ahead of it).
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2010/10/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_11.html#comments
You're exactly right; Animal Farm IS one that everyone should read at least once! It's actually one of my favorite required reads from school! LOL!
