Well, I think I've finally clawed my way out of the reading slump I was in for several weeks there. For a while I just couldn't settle down to any one book long enough to finish it, but I'm doing a little better now and hope to get a few reviews posted this week. Here's how things stand at the moment:
- Recently Finished:
The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady by Elizabeth Stuckey-French (a very quirky and entertaining read)
Cynthia's Attic: The Missing Locket by Mary Cunningham (cute fantasy novel for the pre- and young-teen set) - Reading This Week:
Art and Madness by Anne Roiphe (1970s-era memoir)
A Shilling for Candles by Josephine Tey (vintage mystery novel by one of the greats)
Tassy Morgan's Bluff by Jim Stinson (an Early Reviewer book from Library Thing) - Up Next:
Mr. Chartwell by Rebecca Hunt (another Early Reviewer book from LT - arrived several months late)
Emily, Alone by Stewart O'Nan (one of those "whim" books from our local public library's new books shelf)
All new titles to me, Joy.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reading week

The revenge of the radioactive lady sounds like a funny, quirky read. Have also heard good things about Mr Chartwell.
ReplyDeleteI really want to try the Josephine Tey books. I love vintage mystery. Here's mine:

Ah hah! This is a great list. I'm really interested in Radioactive Lady and Chartwell. I'm finishing up a bit of historical fiction and shamelessly overindulging in a whole bunch of Bret Easton Ellis...Hey, it's Mother's Day...week, right?
ReplyDeleteI love mysteries, but I never tried a vintage one. I really should. The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you are coming out of your reading slump. You did read an interesting variety of books. My Monday Report is here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI have Art and Madness in my TBR file. I will watch for what you have to say!
