A-Z Wednesday: "W"

This week's letter for A-Z Wednesday is "W." So I went to my shelves, and this is what I pulled out.

Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte

Book Details at LibraryThing

Description from Amazon.com:
Emily Bronte's only novel, Wuthering Heights remains one of literature's most disturbing explorations into the dark side of romantic passion. Heathcliff and Cathy believe they're destined to love each other forever, but when cruelty and snobbery separate them, their untamed emotions literally consume them.

Set amid the wild and stormy Yorkshire moors, Wuthering Heights, an unpolished and devastating epic of childhood playmates who grow into soul mates, is widely regarded as the most original tale of thwarted desire and heartbreak in the English language.

  1. I almost used this one too! It has been a few years since I've re-read it. Maybe this year!

  3. Oh yeah... I didn't think of that one. I read it last year, and had borrowed it from the library, so I didn't have it on my shelf anyway.

    Very good pick ;-)

  4. Can you believe I've never read this?

    Thanks for playing!

  5. A definite classic. My sister never did understand why I loved this, calling it Withering Heights. LOL!

  6. I don't like romance but I've acquired a copy of this through swapping and I may tackle it one of these days. So many people tell me it's their favourite book, I must be missing something good. Great choice.
I just did A-Z Wednesday for the first time today too.

  7. I am reading "The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte" right now which has piqued my interest in Wuthering Heights, but I think I may be too chicken to read it! Here is my "W" book.

  8. I really like the second cover but unfortunately I hated Wuthering Heights. But I finished the Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte the other day...LOVED IT!! Now I can't wait to read Jane Eyre!

Welcome and thanks for leaving me a comment. I love to hear from visitors.

Also, please note that while I appreciate the thought, I don't play the blog awards game. I think you all deserve awards! But you might think about becoming a follower of my blog -- that would really be the best award.
