She came into his office as silently as a ghost, and he became aware that she was standing in the shadows inside the doorway, watching him. He had no idea how long she had been there.... Then she asked the question in a way that could neither be laughed off nor avoided.I've always thought the covers of these Larsson books are really not very attractive:
"Dragan, are you attracted to me?"
So here's a shot of a Portuguese edition that's a little more interesting:
And (what the hell), a little eye candy from the movie:

My teaser is on this book too! I think I need to watch the movie in order to get into the book too. It seems to be good teaser material though!

I've heard so much about this series, I may have to break down and try it myself some day. Here's wishing you better luck finishing during your second attempt! My teaser: A Sand County Almanac
ReplyDeleteI loved this series - such wonderful tension in every sentence - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOoh, that's an interesting teaser! I really wanna read this series. :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be great if you could stop by my Teaser Tuesday.
That teaser captures the book.
ReplyDeleteIt took me awhile to get into this book (100 pages?), but then I did; I love the character of Lisbeth.
ReplyDeleteRecently I saw and LOVED the movie. I have the second book on my stacks.
I don't like the covers, either.
Here's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
When I started The Girl....Tatoo, It seemed so boring. So I stopped. I loaned the book to my son. He loved it. He said once you get pass the slow part it's really good. I believe him especially after reading your Teaser.

Does anyone else think that there are similarities between Larsson's Lizbeth character and that of The Holy Ghost Writer's (HGW) character Zaydee in THAT GIRL STARTED HER OWN COUNTRY (The Count of Monte Cristo Series)? I've heard that Zaydee could be Lizbeth's twin sister and that That Girl Started her Own Country may be famed Stieg Larsson fourth book. Anyone else think it may be true?
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I'd love to read this series, but am not so keen on the film.
ReplyDeleteI loved this book...hope the second try works out.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read thsi book, but I have been putting it off because of a certain scene in the movie. Great teaser! Here's mine: http://whatsontheshelf.wordpress.com/2012/09/04/teaser-tuesday-25/
ReplyDeleteYou picked a great teaser. This book really grabbed me -- I couldn't put it down -- though it isn't what I usually read.
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is from A LOT LIKE A LADY.
Thank for the eye candy! ;) That book is awesome. Here is my Teaser! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteEye candy for sure!
ReplyDeleteI devoured this series faster than any other series I have ever read. They actually get better.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got back into the book. I loved the "kick-ass" female in the three novels.
