Barry Monteith was still breathing when Harry found him. His throat had been ripped out.And we've jumped right into the murder with absolutely no lead-up. So far, I love it!

This looks like it could be fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat opening! Really makes me want to jump in.

I will have to try the Sneaky Pie mysteries again. I heard that Rita Mae Brown has just died at age 97 or so.
ReplyDeletethe title is a great teaser--but that teaser is kind of scary :0 Kaye—the road goes ever ever on
ReplyDeleteHi, everyone! And thanks for dropping by.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that, as far as I know, Rita Mae Brown seems to be alive and well. I believe it was Lilian Jackson Braun (author of another cat-centric series of mystery novels) who recently died. Haven't read any of her books, but if there's a mystery and a cat involved, I'll probably love it.
What a great teaser! Another book to add?
ReplyDeleteHere is my Teaser Tuesday: Before I Go To Sleep by S J Bolton post!
Great teaser! Any book co-authored by a cat is a book for me!
ReplyDeleteHere's mine for The Taming of the Rake: http://aturnofpage.blogspot.com/2011/06/teaser-tuesday-no-6.html. Have a lovely Tuesday!
Oh my, the opening catches your attention. I have never read any of her books, I guess another book for my growing tbr list.
ReplyDeleteI love a murder mystery that gets right to it and doesn't tale forever setting up the plot and characters. I'm like you - I read the earlier books in this series.
ReplyDeleteMargot @ Quirky Girls Read
Wow, that's some opening. I haven't read any of this series.
ReplyDeleteKind of gruesome, but I've never been one to shy away from that!
ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser for Half a Life by Darin Strauss:

That's a perfect example of "grab the reader!" I'll add this author to my list.
ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser: Sandy's Teaser
Well, that's...something of a feat. Not an altogether pleasant experience, I'd imagine.
ReplyDeleteI've read and enjoyed Rita Mae Brown in the past, but so far I haven't read any of the Sneaky Pie Brown books. This one sounds fascinating.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY TT POST
I know these books are rather fluffy, but I love them since they take place very close to my husband's hometown. I know all the places she mentions in the books.
ReplyDeleteUm, ew? What a line!
