This week my teaser lines come from The Shooting Party by Isabel Colegate, a book I've been meaning to read ever since 1985 when I saw the movie based on the novel. This quote comes very early in the book, on page 2:
"It's not a bad idea to get in the habit of writing down one's thoughts. It saves one having to bother anyone else with them."I've kept a diary or journal of some kind almost since I learned how to write. And this has always been one of my favorite quotes about journal keeping. I knew it was by Isabel Colegate, but I never knew exactly where it appeared in her works. So I was pleasantly surprised to discover it here. (And, by the way - do you keep a journal?)

No, I'm terrible when it comes to keeping a journal. I'm glad that it works out for you though and it's awesome to finally read a book that has been on your TBR since 1985.

Cool to read something that you've been wanting to for so long. I keep a journal, but am kinda sporadic about it at present. My Teaser Tuesday
ReplyDeleteI like it! And I haven't kept a journal for years. Just my online meanderings...lol.

That's a great quote! I have kept a journal in the past but haven't been doing that lately. It would probably be a good idea to start that habit again.
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser is from THE HUSBAND'S SECRET.
Am not familiar with the book or movie, but love the quote -- and yes, I do keep a journal. My teaser: A Journey to the Center of the Earth
ReplyDeleteExcellent quote! I never stuck to keeping a journal but I should.
