This week Booking Through Thursday asks what seems like a simple question:"Plots? Or Stream-of-Consciousness? Which would you rather read?"
And right at first I was tempted just to say plots. Period.
But when I got to thinking about it, I realized that while I really do prefer books with strong plots, lots of action and dialogue, I have been known to enjoy some "stream of consciousness" type of writing as well (I'm thinking especially of works by Virginia Woolf, and some of J.D. Salinger's writings). So I guess it all depends on the writer and how he/she handles a particular style.
Looks like my answer is both.

I've seen this meme on a few blogs I follow and I have to be honest on this one and tell you; I have no idea what a "stream of consciousness is" :(
Yeah, I thought this was an easy question at first, too. But the more I thought about it (and the more I read other people's posts), the more I realized it's not that simple. I think you're absolutely right -- it depends on the writer.
